Case studies regarding cost and quality in 20 hospitals in Abu Dhabi. Among those hospitals were Al Mafraq Hospital, Al Ain Cromwell Hospital, Al Khaleej Hospital, NMC Abu Dhabi, Al Noor Hospital, Oasis Hospital Al Ain, Life Line Hospital al Musaffah, Emirates Hospital, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Al Raha Hospital, Corniche Hospital, and others.
Based on the results of the calculations, the base rate and cost weights of the DRG for the hospitals in Abu Dhabi were negotiated. Furthermore, staff need calculation were performed and quality indicators for hospital services were developed “Pay-for-Performance”.
The project was organized and financed by Daman Health, the National Health Insurance of Abu Dhabi.
